25 Days of Art: Origami

Day 9 of 25 Days of Art is the Day That Didn't Happen. Due to some byzantine laws and bureaucracy at its finest the library was closed on Day 9 due to extreme temperatures in the building- can't turn on AC until May 15, but also can't be in a building above 82 degrees. What to do?

Origami is a fairly popular program here. We did a Mother's Day origami program last year and our books go out fairly regularly. I'm sure we'll have a chance to do it again soon. But in the meantime we'll move on.

In case you want to try your hand at paper folding on your own, here's all you need to know...

Supplies:
-paper
-paper cutter (prep)
-instructions

Prep:
Using the paper cutter, cut computer paper (either white or colored) into 3x3 squares.

Process:
I know how to make exactly three things- flowers, hearts and butterflies so that's what I was planning on teaching but you tube is a wealth of information on paper folding, and it helps to watch the actual folds if the book diagrams are a little too conceptual for you (they usually are for me).
