And we're back after our two week planning break! The crowd was a little restless today so I switched out one of the books I had planned on doing (I Had a Favorite Dress by Bonnie Ashburn) for a few more action rhymes and silly songs.
Song: Good Morning Dear Earth
Song: If You're Wearing Red Today
Flannel: Mitten Mates
Song: Open, Shut Them
Song: Jumping and Counting from Jim Gill's Irrational Anthem and More Salutes to Nonsense
Song: Shake My Sillies Out from Raffi's The Singable Songs Collection (20th Anniversary Special Edition)
Action Rhyme: Big, Big, Big
Puppet Story: Joseph Had A Favorite Coat
Song: Wheels on the Bus
Song: Turn Around from Hap Palmer's Getting to know Myself
Make and Take Craft: Your Favorite Shirt
Joseph had a favorite coat, but we made our favorite shirts!
-glitter glue
-crayons
-tissue paper
-sequins
Process:
Before story time I cut the construction paper into shirt shapes and cut the tissue paper into other shapes like circles, triangles and ruffles. After story time we sued the glitter glue to both decorate and glue down the sequins and tissue paper to make the prettiest shirts anyone had ever seen.
Time:
Prep took 10 minutes, craft took 25
